Business Central Online Product Catalog Mapping

When syncing invoices from Work 365 to Business Central Online (BCO) it is important that the product lines referenced in the invoice will map to existing products in BCO.

Note: If a product exists in the CRM product catalog, but not in BCO, when the invoice is synced to BCO Work 365 will create the new products in BCO

Note: If a subscription does not have the “Product” field filled in, the subscription is a “write-in” subscription, and when the invoice syncs to BCO, the system will leverage the Write-in Product mapping as defined on the BCO Connector Configuration.


To ensure mapping of the product catalogs in CRM and BCO, the “Product ID,” of the Work 365 product form, must match exactly to the No. field in BCO of the same product.

Note that because Business Central automatically creates a product number, this number can be updated on the Product in the CRM catalog. The other option is to use the CRM product catalog as a primary system of record, and have the Product ID there match the No. in BCO for that product.
